Falling Weight Devices: Inspection, Calibration & Maintenance

Carl Hamm Geotechnik services and calibrates light and medium-weight falling weight devices from ZORN and HMP at our conveniently located facility in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Calibration is required by technical testing regulations and is often a prerequisite for participation in tenders. Calibration is carried out in accordance with TP BF-StB Part B 8.4 as specified by the German Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt). Successful inspection is documented by a certificate and an inspection label.

Calibration at our facility includes a thorough inspection and, where necessary, repair of your equipment to ensure the continued precision and reliability of your falling weight devices. All components, from mechanical parts to electronics, are carefully checked.

For Carl Hamm probing equipment, we have a dedicated test bench for verifying the actual impact energy of the devices. This test enables more accurate calculations of the values you have measured. It also allows you to demonstrate that your equipment accurately reflects the actual soil conditions.
