Asphalt Sampling

The Carl Hamm Geotechnik SKBW road core drilling rig is an economical and safe solution for asphalt sampling. With the core drilling rig mounted on a trailer, sampling points across larger test areas and along extended road sections, such as motorways and country roads, can be reached quickly and efficiently using the towing vehicle. The trailer is approved for road speeds of up to 100 km/h. In addition, there is no need to load and unload the rig, as sampling is carried out directly from the trailer-mounted unit.

The road core drilling rig can be operated entirely by remote control, allowing personnel to maintain a safe distance from traffic, for example behind a safety barrier. The core drill bit is automatically centred hydraulically, and the drilling depth of up to 650 mm is displayed on a scale. The SKBW is equipped with its own power supply and a heated water tank.
